ANSWERS TO CORRESPONDENTS.
J. Fitz (Alexandra). —l. Falcon was disqualified for being ridden to make a close finish, and getting pipped on the post, the race resulting in a dead heat, owing solely to the inexperience of his rider, young McGree, whose instructions (perfectly proper by the way) from his father, Mr O. C. McGree, were to win, but not by too much, owing to the ridiculous imposition put on Elsa for winning the Easter Handicap the previous day, when she carried 7st lOlbs, and was handicapped for her win at 9st 41bs for next day. The proof of want of bad intention ■was given in the persistence of Mr McGfee in running off the dead heat when the horse won easily. The year was 1878. 2. Mr McGree sued for £1,500 damages against the stewards, but got nonsuited.
