remove from Zealandia's sable aristocracy ? This snob-foolery is simply disgusting The nephew of Mr W. L. Eees, Mr G-. V. Day, has been and gone and done it at last. I thought the hap]?y ©vent was near by, his presence so frequently in the vicinity of the Bank of N.Z. The bride is Miss Eveline White, of Invorcargill, who for some time past has been the guest, associate, and promenade companion of Mrs Matthews, of the Bank. The ceremony was pei'formed by the Rev. W. Cocks, the parson of the parish, and was witnessed by a goodly concourse of "ladies, tho young ones in tho congregation wishing it had been their turn, and the old ones regretting it was not tlioir turn over again. The bridesmaids were the Misses Rees(3) and Miss Matthews. In the evening there was 'high jinks at Te Hapara, the residence of Mr W. L. Roes ; there was music, and there was dancing. As young Day is a jovial young fellow the Observer man wishes tho newly-wedded pair long lifo, happiness, and, in the fulness of time, a few more gleams of — JDaylight in tho world.
