The members admitting the importance of the subject, set apart the next day, for i^s. consideration. Claims for compensation were liiid by nor fewer than from 1 up to 2946, from 3001' ho 3025, 'from. 3SOI to 3530 (inclusive) ; 3001 shares altogether, -which, were in proper form, being accompanied by .the. pre--scribed deposit of 10s. After six hours close, investigation, 9-1 of the claims w^re allowed. It was resolved . that a hearty vote of thanks be accorded the remaining--2907 who, while having rendered equal service, wereybythe unfortunate accident of circumstances, ineligible for substantial reward on the present occasion.
