PR O S P E C T US OF THE AUCKLAND TOBACCO COMPANY (LIMITED). CAPITAL £5000 In 5000 Shares of £1 each. The object of this Company is to extend the business of the Auckland Tobacco Growing Association, and also to engage in the manufacture of the leaf. The right to purchase the property upon which their operations have been conducted, consisting of 212 acres of first-class land, for the sum of JBIOOO, has been secured by the Association ; of this right it is proposed to take advantage, the Association having proved the property thoroughly suitable for the growth of tobneco, and having spent a considerable sum in permanent improvements thereon. It is also proposed to manufacture the tobacco already grown by the Association, also that which may be hereafter produced. The remission of the duty on tobacco and cigars manufactured from New Zealand grown leaf, 3s 6d and 6s per pound respectively, and tre substitution of a uniform duty of Is per pound, leaves a margin for profit which must be apparent to all. The interest of the Aesociation, consisting of live stock, plant, and the present year's crop, is valued at £630, which sum the members accept in 1260 shares in this Company half-paid up, 740 shares in addition are reserved for them on the same terms as the balance of 3000 shares, which is now ottered to the general public.
