(from our ows correspondent.) Melbourne. — Wybert Reeve opens at the Bijou on April 28th with " The Passing Regiment." Miss Jenny WattTanner, Miss Dqcy Mainwaring, Nat. Douglas, and Prank' Gerald are in the Company. — Messrs. Fleming, Emmett, Palmer, Tolano, and Brown won their case against Alison (lessee of Theatre Royal, Adelaide), and got full damages claimed, viz., full salaries for ten weeks. Mr Alison's former life ■was exposed to public view through the hot crossexamination he was put to. Verb. sap. — The Montague-Turner season, at the Bijou, came to an abrupt termination. The orchestra struck " in the middle of the performance, and refused to continue until some arrears of salary had been paid ; and as the cash was not forthcoming, the audience had to be contented with two acts of the opera instead of three. Mr Turner filed his schedule the next day. Hobart. — In a hundred pound sweep on the Hobarfc Cup, Messrs. Dodge, Cayo, and Gerald each drew a horse— a bit of luck for the " pros." — Miss Anstead had a big house for her benefit on Feb. 21st. Darrell and Riggs both appeared, and the performance was under the patronage of the officers of H.M.S. Nelson, Diamond, and Espiegle. The company open in Launceston in " Led Astray," on Feb. 26, and at the conclusion of the season there break up.
