furnished, including besides exquisite needlework, water-colourpaintings, oil paintings, hand-painted bannerettes, screens, fans, photograph frames, tables, arid every sort of attractive knicknack. The Art Gallery proved a great attraction, and added considerably to the profits. The Ponsonby stall contained amongst otner attractive exhibits, some finely modelled wax flowers, harp, and Maltese cross, also a beautifully embroidered chair, and mantelpiece drape. One of the principal attractions on " The City Stall " was a beautiful model of a South Sea Island canoe. The " Grafton Stall " contained a very nice collection of underlinen, embroidery, and lace. At " John Ploughman's " stall we noticed, a pencil sketch of the Wellesley-street Baptist Church by Mr Tht)s. Spurgeon, also photographs of Mr C. H. and Mrs Spurgeon, and statuettes of " John Ploughman."
