Who is the young man that attracts Sarah'B attention at Bleak House ?...Jim looks well since he had that last shave... Doe3 F. S. go to see Polly now?... Dan has not had a letter since Clara left... The soiree and ball held in the To Arai school-room on November 23rd, was a complete success, although the evening was very wet, which prevented a great many people from attending. The programme was a long one and was ably gone through. The principal singers were Misses Bowmar and G-ozar, H. Brown, J. Sarah and W. Fosedick. Miss Bowmar presided at the harmonium accompanied by Mr Naggs on the violin. Miss Bowmar was, without any doubt, the belle of the ball and looked very charming... The Te Arai and Hakaru C. C.'s started a match on the 23rd, but it had to be drawn on account of the rain...C. H. says he will not mix among ploughboys and milkmaids... The old woman ran away with R.s toothbrush, when coming from town... The brave old soldier is getting very fightable ; he has challenged to fight any three men in Te Arai.. .Bob was all in his glory at the spree, having found a new partner to dance with... Who was that young man watching for Miss A. S. at the ball ?
