Spectacles.— Herbert and Godfreys' AquaCrystal Spectacles, recommended by the Faculty. T. B. Hill, ageut. Messrs Brown, Barrett, and Co., Elliott-street, have been appointed wholesale agents for the province of Auckland for the sale of The Oriental Tea Company's Standard Packet Teas. On Wednesday next, the 30fcIi insfc., Messrs B. Tonks and Co. will sell, on the premises of Mr A. Clark at Eeinuera, the whole of his household furniture, horse, carriage, etc., sale to commence at 11 o'clock. Mr Richard Greorge, butcher, of Parnell, having handed his business over to his brother, Mr John George, who will make his customers in no way regret the change, as he intends keeping only the best meat, to be supplied at the most reasonablo prices. Mr Montague's cheap sale is still going on, and those who wish to obtain presents for their friends or good articles of jewellery for themselves, should pay Mr Montague's establishment a visit before all the bost things are snapped up; for the shop is crowded daily. The North Shore folks are again determined to give the public a good regatta, as the programme this year is equally as good as last, commencing with the trading cutter race, and finishing with the greasy boom. The arrangements arp. in the hands of a good committee, with Mr Dacre as secretary, whose experience in matters of this kind guarantee everything being conducted and carried out properly. On Wednesday next Mr E. 0. Greenwood will sell, at the Pariiell nursery, without the slightest reserve, a large quantity of choice trees, plants, shrubs, etc., all -thoroughly worded and true to name. A fiiie opportunity for anyone wishhig to stock a garden. The sale will commence at 11 o'clock sharp, and as luncheon , will be provided on the ground there is every reason to believe there will be a large attendance. An old, old man, such a one as -would be described by. Dickens as the very much grandfather of a number of grandchildren, sat in a room surrounded by children of all ages who were eagerly waiting for him to .tell them a "good old story," not a' regular .
