MONONUI.
A most enjoyable evening was spent on board the whaleship in Mongoiiui harbour on Friday by a number of gentlemen. R. M. H. was a host in himself with his CTcr ready wit. 0. played some finished solos on the violin. The whiskey and wines were of the best. — The Misses T. and C. ignore the vanity of long hair, and have gone in for the aesthetic style of dose crop. Is it the new parson they are imitating ? — The engagement between A. H. and the "Wild Rose" has come to grief. The old adage " Many a slip, . etc.," is verified.— There were really some splendid spills at the rink the other evening. One skater had such an affection for the. floor that he stood on his head. — U. has a duck of a moustache, so the Oruru girts say.
