This company has been formed for the purpose of purchasing, subdividing, and selling land suitable for sites for houses in pleasant, valuable districts near to the City of Auckland. The properties already acquired are — 1. The newly laid out Township of St. Heliers, on the Southern Shore of Auckland Harbour, and immediately opposite the Island of Rangitoto, containing 608 acres, with extensive frontage to the Harbour. 2. The unalienated portion of the Remuera Land Company's Estate, amounting to 104 acres. 3. A block of land in the Northcote District, on the Northern Shore of the Harbour, containing about 1000 acres, and having extensive frontage to the sea and to public roads. The St. Heliers Estate is completely surveyed and pegged out on the ground, and is ready for immediate sale and occupation. There are numerous choice sites for villa residences, which for beauty and situation and other advantages cannot be surpassed. There are also a number of highly valuable business sites on the flat land near the water, which have been laid out with special regard to the interests of the commercial members of the community. Two special features of tbe township require mention, namely, the fact that a reserve of good width runs along the whole of the water frontage, and that in nearly all the blocks a central reserve lias been made, by which access is given to the back of each allotment. A substantial wharf is . in course of construction, which, when completed will allow large steamers to land passengers at low Trater. Tliere are also several beautiful bathing bays on the eastern portion of the beach, to which access has been afforded by the construction of substantial flights of steps. A firstclass iron steamboat has been purchased, and will run regularly as soon as the wharf is ready. There is at present an excellent road to this property, by Avay of St. John's College, and the drive past Mount Hobson and through Remuera is one of the most beautiful in the Colony. With a view of bringing the new township within a few minutes' walk of the city, a railway has been projected, connecting with the existing line at Mechanics' Bay. The survey is now in progress, and as the line will be level, it will be comparatively inexpensive to work. The length will be a little over five miles. The Remuera land is so well known and highly prized that it is unnecessary to refer to it at length. Of the Northcote property, it is enough to say that, when properly sub-divided, it will afford sites to suit all classes and all tastes, and can be sold at prices which will not fail to attract those who desire to acquire a homestead near the city. It abounds with picturesque remnants of kauri forest and fern gullies, and the views to be obtained are unsurpassed around Auckland. For all portions of the company's property, the directors are prepared to deal with purchasers on the most liberal terms, and will offer special advantages to those who undertake to build suitable houses. ■ A large proportion of the capital (over £54,000) has already been subscribed by 95 members of the companies by the amalgamation of which the new company has been formed, and the public are now invited to take up the balance. The Directors have the fullest confidence that all who respond to the invitation will not only help to benefit Auckland, but also make an excellent investment for themselves. Applications for new shares will be received up to the 25th instant, by the Company's brokers, Messrs Saunders and Alexander, from whom all particulars regarding the Articles of Association, &c, can be obtained.
