A SWELL OUT OP LUCK.
Amongst the men engaged by a certain bush, contractor not many miles from Grrahamstown, is the eldest son of an English baronet who, at one time, represented his country in 'the House of Commons. The young fellow came out to the colony a few years ago, landed at Dunedin, for the purpose of making a toiir. On account of his Home connection, together with his many good qualities, lie was introduced to the best society, and for a few months lived the life of a butterfly. Unfortunately, he fell amongst the Philistines, and in five months from, the date of Ms arrival in New Zealand, he found himself minus the three thousand pounds with which he had provided himself before leaving the " tight little island," and possessed, instead of all the bad habits of gast young colonials. From one thing to another he descended to bush work, an occupation in which he is now engaged, and in which he is likely to remain until he succeeds to the family title and estates.
