KUMEU.
Frank E. regrets extremely not having entered his horse for the steeplechase, as he believes it would have been a gift for his chestnut, "The Contractor" had better retire gracefully now, for since Joe has been made ganger he stands no chance. I believe Dick's marine sketches are likely to obtain f avourable notice at the Christchurch Exhibition, more from their originality than from, their intrinsic merit. What a pity "important business" called Charley away last Easter Monday just as the rest of the cricketers were adjourning to dinner! Why was it ? Studying economy ? "What a nice little fellow Tommy is I" was^ a remark made by Miss B. a few days ago. G-o in and win Tommy. You had better buy a sidesaddle. It is a pity Arthur instead of a black cloth (wedding?) suit did not invest in a monkeyjacket as I believe, on a recent visit to a house not above one hundred miles from the Kumeu, he fancied himself in the vicinity of an iceberg.
