MORRINSVILLE
The Te Arolia peak was successfully sealed by a party of ladies and gentleman from this neighbourhood last Sunday, Mrs C, of Nott's Castle, being one of the amateur Alpine Club. What is the young contractor from Auckland doing in the Piako ? Grirls in that rising township must see to their hearts. He is a good catch and worth a pile of money. Half-castes are his penchant. ■ Is it true that " the knight of Parihaka" stayed at a certain hotel, and was mean enough to go away without leaving anything for the chambermaid and boots ? Our other "Johnny" was not of this ilk. Captain Steele, of Hamilton, was completely flabbergasted when attempting to speak to the great. Rolieston, stammering and stuttering, and shaking in his boots, arid he brought down two sharp snubs on his poor head from the Minister of Lands.
