E. ARTHUR, Salesman and Auctioneer. aEM CLAIM (TOKATEA EEEF) _____ The Gem Mining Association having, in addition to their orignal section, just acquired n valuable block of ground nearer to the Tokatea workings, have decided to sell Three Eeserved Shares at £75 each to augment the present Reserve or Working Fund. The new ground has been locked up for some time by parties not working it, and is within 130 feet of the first rise in the Bismarck and Tokatea low level, where the first patch. of specimens was got after the No. 7 Level was put in. The Tokatea reef runs into and through the centre of the Gem Ground ; near the boundary there are backs from the Tokatea low level of about 300 feet intact to the surface of the Gem Ground. The money derived from the Sale of the Shares will, without reservation, be applied (together with the Funds now in the Bank of New Zealand) to workings on the reef, thus rich gold may at any moment be struck, and Shareholders may actually receive their own money back with the dividends from the mine. The Tokatea produced £132,000 worth of gold without making a call ; and now that a New Section of their celebrated reef is to be opened up, similar results, it is to bo hoped, will accrue. The price asked for the Gem Promoters' Shares is merely nominal (representing Is 6d per share if in a company), and investors have the gratification of knowing that the whole of the money goes to work the ground. An important feature in the position of this ground is, that one of the greatest shots of gold worked in the Tokatea in its most brilliant days dipped to the east with the spur, was cut in the Bismarck, and gave them their biggest hauls of specimens, and its course is now traceable into this hitherto xmworked section of one of the most renowned reefs in the Colony. The Mining Surveyor's report and plan may be referred to, showing that the course of the reef for 800 feet is through the Gem ground. Twelve shares are already taken up; three are now offered, as stated (each l-16th, at £75), and a fourth share is reserved, at £200, to meet future contingencies if required, and prevent the possibility of a call. Cheap Crushing Power is the most important auxiliary to quartz-mining operations, and the Gem is better off in this respect than any other claim, having the Tokatea battery on its boundary, while the Bismarck battery, acknowledged to be the best and most powerful on the goldfield, is at no great distance, and the tramway to the latter runs through the Gem ground. Both these plants are available when required. Persons desiring to obtain a portion of a share can do so. — Apply to Mr F. A. WHITE, or Mr A. SAUNDERS. N.N. — The mining survey may be seen for a few days at the office of Mr A. Saundors, Insurance Buildings. 1748 7^ L A S £3 W O R _ S~. TO COUNTRY STOREKEEPERS, HOTELKEEPERS, ETC. All kinds of Glassware made on the Premises, comprising — Tumblers, Lamp Glasses, Fly Catchers, Fish Globes, Jelly and Jam Glasses, Garden Shades, Paste Boilers, &c. All the above are sold at prices hitherto unequalled in Auckland. Note Address — M. COOK & SONS, FREEMAN'S BAY, .1764 AUCKIAHD. _
