This Company is formed for the purpose of working •on tribute, for a term of ten years, the properties of the following Comiianies, from tho 400-feet level of the Big Pump shaft downwards : — Kuranui Hill United, Moanataiari, Waiotahi, Old Caledonian, Southern Cross, Old Golden Calf, New Golden Crown, and Cure. An arrangement has been made with these Companies whereby they agree to concede, for the term of ten years, all their respective ground below the 400-feet level, the Tribute Company paying s royalty of 20 per ■cent, of the net proceeds obtaiued, which will be divided among the above-named Companies iv proportion to the amount thej' each respectively contribute to the Hauraki Pumping and Drainage Company. The amount hitherto contributed by the above-named Companies to the maintenance of the Big Pump will be reduced about one-half, and the Tribute Company, with the Thames County and Borough Councils, will pay tho balance of cost of working tho Pump, estimated to be about one-half. The ground obtained on tribute will contain within its vast area the properties of the Companies from which enormous yields of gold were obtained in the higher levels. Shareholders in a"ny of the above-mentioned Comprnies are now offered one share in this Compaivy for eyery .one share they hold in each respective Company on payment of 3d per share on application, and a further sum of 3d per share two months after allotment. The time within .which shares must be applied for will be limited to one month from the 23rd of Jauuary for Shareholders resident in the Colony of New Zealand, two months for Shareholders resident in the Australian Colonies, and six months for Shareholders resident •elsewhere. All shares unapplied for at the end of such periods will become the property of this Company, to be dealt with as the Directors of this Company may deem fit.
