As an illustration of the way in which the voting went in the debate Protection versus Free Trade, it maybe mentioned that on Friday Mr E. W. Burton was boasting that when the show of hands Avas taken for free trade he saw a number of young ladtes sitting together not knowing which way to Trote. He signed to them, their hands went up, and the majority was swelled accordingly.
