To -tine last meeting °f the Chamber, the Ohinemuri Gazette saj's, Mr. Whitten ' Unought seviea^L letters which he had received from the Hoa-otiu ; Freezing Works in answer to his inquires as 'to the suitability of • erecting a freezing works. I Mr. J .M-unro said that he would I very much like to see a freezing works in Paeroa, but he did not see any hope of getting enough stock in a dairying district. Mr. G. Buchanan did not think that the district was developed enough flar the matter. Mr. Whitten' remarked that the Thames people were moving in the direction of getting a. freezing woifcs. Mr. Buchanan said' that it would ■not pay to'fatten s tock «n £&® au acre land. ; Some discussion took place^on the •matter of tHe waste from fhe abattoirs, and if something could 1 not be done to use this offal. Mr. L. E. Cassrels said 1 tha* in the light of what Mr. Whitten had brought up it might be ai good 1 scheme to see if some use could not be made of the;'abattoins wns'te, and: moved that data ibe obtiainied of tihe' araoaTit of stoob passed through the abattoirs and see if there were any jy^r-ibilties in the scheme. This was seconded by Mr Munro and carried. / ■
