Cr. Keetinig, of the Ohinemuri ! Couinty Council, ,has received from ! Mr. H. A. Lamb, the -Ifoputy-Con-troller and Auditor,' Wellingtan, the following letter regarding gold = revenue: —> ■ "In reply to your reference of ; Jun© 2 I have the honour to state ' that- the Audit Office concurs in the ■ view you say is expressed by your legal adviser, viz., that gold revenue is an essential' part of the general County fund, and must therefore 'be used with regard: to the riding 'oa one commoiDi basis, not a differential ( one, as you claim is now done. A similar decision has , ailready been given in the case of a southern County."' ._, ' " . .
