James Stephen, storekeeper at Stave-ley, and for 3:5 years a resident oi thait district, met his deiath in a ■vjety sad manner last night. He was found dead thia morning in his garden and black and blue with bruises. Hd was lying nea.r a Water-wheel which generates electricity in his house. It is surmised that last night he caught hid foot in a-rult and fell against a revolving belt, was entangled! therein, and.' beateai to death.
