The Old Bonanza Mines.

The California and Consolidated Virginia mines which first came into prominence about 1873, and which sable* quently turned out about $100,000,000 in bullion, and paid stockholders $81350,000, were consolidated under one management about a year ago. The only revenue that the eont* pany received from this output of oro was the royalty of 50c per ton, or $9,249, Tho remainder was taken by the contractor. In addition the company took out on its own account in the eleven months ending October 1, 1885, 20,442 tons ore, of which 19,677 tons was milled, yielding $330,354, of which $106,358 was in wlver and $223,996 in gold, being an average of $16 79 per ton. The total bullion output of the property for the eleven months ending October 1,1885, was therefore as follows:— '
