Yesterday. Union.—A contract has been let for driving a distance of 50ft on the line of reef, which is about 6ft in thickness, and the work is now in progress.
Nil Despebanduk.-—The reef cut in the eastern drive from the bottom of the shaft is about 15 inches in thickness, and is composed of kindly looking quartz, in which a little gold is seen occasionally, while good dish prospects can also be obtained. Operations are suspended for the present for the holidays. SiLTKBTON.—The reef on the surface bas been cut through, and proved to be some 13ft in width. The footwall portion of the reef is about 4ft wide, upon which a winze has been commenced. The. quartz is of a promising description for gold.
