This day. More Fires. A disastrous fire occurred at Lumsden between 2 and 3 o'clock this morning, resulting in the destruction of Bradmore's store, stock, and dwelling ; the Colonial Bank ; Maley's shop and contents ; Standford's store, dwellings, and contents ; and Fraser's blacksmith shop and tools. The following are the insurances :—South British, £1420 ; Victoria £155, and New Zealand £750. The New Zealand office has £250 re-insured in the Phoenix office, and the South British £400 re-insured in the Hanseatic office.
McPherson and Filmer's sawmill, at Mabel bush, was burned down yesterday. The plant, buildings, and men's dwellings were also destroyed, but the insurance is unknown at present.
