AUCKLAND.
TJiia day. Mr Maguire, the contractor 6t the Victoria Arcade, having reduced the carpenters wages from 10s to 9s per day, 45 employed there struck this morning. The carpenters on the l^ree Library and other works, whose wages have been 9s and undor for some time past, have also struck. One hundred are now on strike.
