Abbott (of Auckland', Mr Lochlan McGowan, Mr Luscembe Harvell, and Mr Charles Harding, sit the suit of Mr J. F. Adams, of London, proprietor of the copyright of the opera of "Maritana," claiming «2CO damages for an vnliceoied representation of that opera by tbe company now performing in Wellington. An injunction restraining future performances of the opera is «lso asked for. Messrs Buckley, Stafford, snd Barton act for plaintiff (whose registered New Zealand representative is Mr X. T. Gillon), and Mr Travers has accepted ssniee' on beh»lf of defendants. It is also Lkely that proceedings will be taken to re■train the performance of the "Bohemian Oirl." A telegram from Wellington, given elsewhere, States that the ir.junotion applied for has been refused by the Supreme Court.
