St. Thomas'
The examinations in this school com menced yesterday morning and were concluded this afternoon. This establishment is supported by the Catholics of the Thames, and other pupils of different denominations attend it. It was manifest at the cooclusion of the examination that much good work had been done during the year, more especially in the English and mathematical classes; in the latter, the algebraical and Euclid pupils displayed a knowledge that must have been gratifying to their teacher, Mr Breen, who was deservedly complimented at the end of the examination. The members of the Committee and a number of visitors were present during the severe test applied as to tbe past year's work, and the efficiency of the school was very favorably commented on by them. Masters Philip Mnlligau for Algebra, Frank Doedan for proficiency in home lessons, P. Callan for map drawing, and M. Delahunty, and E. Towhill were amongst other deserving pupils accorded special praise.
