The public funeral of the remains of tbe late General Sir Peter Soratchley took place at the St. Kilda cemetery at 10 o'clock this morning. The ceremony was of a very solemn and imposing character. The various Australasian colonies were numerously and influentially represented, and the funeral obsequies were performed by the Bishop of Melbourne. The procession, which was a very lengthy one, included two metropolitan battalions of the Victorian Infantry Militia. There was a very large attendance of the general public. Fydney, This day. In the House of Representatives, last night, Sir John Robertson brought forward a rote of censure on the Govern ment for their budget proposals, and after a considerable discussion it was adjourned, as the Government were unprepared for the motion. The proceedings during the evening were of a lively character, per sonalities being freely exchanged between several speakers.
