AUCKLAND.
This day.
Information has been received of the death of a settler, at Henderson, named John Malcolm, tinder singular circumstances. He was taking the hide from the decomposed carcase of a bullock, when he took ill and died, it is believed, from blood poisoning. A private letter states that Mr A. Campbell, late of Tauianga, was tomahawked by the natives of JSew Ireland, on September 24th last. Arrived '■ s.s. Ruapehu, from the South.
