MINING NOTES.
In the two latest consecutive weeks in the Sonny Corner mine, the manager reports smelting operation having reduced in the first week 692 tons ore, with a return of bnllion to the value of £3.694, and in the next week, 625 tons, returning bullion valued at £3,209, exclusive of fine dust saved. At the Day Dream mine, for the week coding 16 October, 166 tons of ore were reduced, for a total yield of 23 tops of bullion, carrying over 16,0000zs of silver, or in value over £3000. At the Pinnacles mine, N.S.W., the kernelter has been running since the start on 17tb September, and has been putting through on an average 26 tons of ore per day. The total yield of silver in three weeks from date of starting was 16,700 ounces. - The.Tasmania Company, Beaconsfield, crushed 1438 tons for 22140zs gold, and declared a dividend of 3s 6d, being the 83 and making a total of £394,030 paid in dividends.
