The A.E.C. Spring Meeting is taking pace to-day. The weather is simply splendid, and there sre about 2000 spectators present. The following is the result of the various events :— --

Carter's b g Eewi, aged, 9st llb(Wattie) ... ... ... 3 Bob Roy, Lionel, Nemesis, St. Michael, Lioness, and Empress also ran. The betting was 6 to 4 against Mitrailleuse, 3 to I Lioness, 4 to 1 Empress, 5 to 1 Woodnympb, and 7 to 1 the others. Lioness was the first to get away, and she lfd the field till the cutting was reached, when Mitrailleuse went up and got on terms with the filly, Eewi being third; the others trailed off. A good race in the straight ensued between the.trio antil the distance post was reached; when Woodnymph shot out from the ruck, and iron cleverly by half a length. Time, lmin 48«ecs.
