[BPECIAL TO THE PEES 9 ASSOCIATION].
Melbourne, Last night. There was a large attendance at Tattersal's to night, but there was little doing. The latest betting, on the Maribynong Plate is as follows :—Acme 100 to 40 (off), Blairgowrie 100 to 16 (taken), Louise Berta 100 to 12 (off). The Nun, who has greatly improved since the Caulfield races, did a great trial at Kingston yesterday, and has been backed by the stable at lOO'a to 12 down to 100's to 10 (taken). For the V.R.C. Derby, Nordenfeldfc is quoted at 7 to 4, Dunlop 4 to 1 (taken), Thunderbolt 5 to 1 (off). There is little change in the others, and also in the quotations for the Melbourne Cup. Nordenfeldt is being strongly backed for the double event at 100 to 8. The stable are very sweet about Isonomy's chance for the Derby, as he beat- Frst Chester in a trial yesterday, giving her a tone. For the Derby, I fancy Thunderbolt, Nordenfeldt, and Isonomy, the former for choice.
(Beceived October 31,1.40 p m.) « Melbouhnjb, This day.
The Latest. Nordenfeldt has advanced to 6 to 4 (taken), Thunderbolt 100 to 20 (taken).
In the Cup betting, Liverpool has advanced to 100 to 10 (off), Nordenfeldt 100 to 10 (taken)- Trenton has receded, and is now at ICO to 7 (off). Brown and Rose, Warwick, Velocipede, and Cerise and Blue did serviceable gallops this morning. The number of visitors from the neighboring colonies is-larger than usual. It has rained heavily during the night, but is now clearing up.
(Eeceived Ootober 31, 3 p.m.) Melbourne, This day, 1 p.m. Ettie has been scratched for the Derby, and Impulse for the Cup. Rain has commenced again, and there 1 appears every prospect of it setting in for a wet afternoon.
