AUCKLAND.
This day. Archdeacon Pritt, late incumbent of St. Mark's Church, Remuera, had a stroke of paralysis on Thursday, and died this morning. The deceased arrived in the colony as chaplain to Bishop Hobhouse in 1857. He first took part in the Melaneaian Mission, the whole organisation of which 13 due to him. After the was be was the first clergyman in Waikato, being stationed at Hopnhopu. He has been the incumbent of St. Mark's, Eemuera, since 1871, and w failing health for two years past. MrPearce, a blacksmith at Newmarket, claims the Derwatwater estate through his wife who is grand daughter of a former claimant. A correspondence has passed between him and the Chancellor of the Exchequer regarding an investigation of bis claim.
