Pabis, October 19. The result of tbe balloting shows a Considerable Republican majority.
Constantinople, October 19.
Tbe reply of the Sublime Porfee to the combined note of the Grand Powers has been published. In reply the Sultan asks co-operation from the Powers in advising a settlement of the present difficulty, more espepialjy in view pf the attitude assumed by Greece and Servia. A diplomatic note has also been issued by Prince Alexander, of Bulgaria, in which he declares his entire readiness to submit to the decision of the Powers.
Calcutta, October 18.
Government have made arrangements to despatch a reinforcement to British Bnrmab in order to uphold the Chief Commissioner, Mr Bernard, in his ultimatum which he has despatched to King Theebaw.

It ia annpnnced that a body of Servian troops bave occupied tbe Koheak Pass, on the Macedonian frontier, a position which is partly situated in Turkish territory.
