The Arawa takes 4000 carcases from the Frozen Meat Company. At present there are many large veasels in the harbor. The Tongariro is expected to-morrow, and she also takes a cargo of frozen meat home.
A favorable feeling is increasing here towards Thames mining stocks. The published result of the trial smelting at LaMonte's farnace at Melbourne has excited the attention of many who look upon mining ventures with anything but favor* able eyes.
Mr Peacock made a good address at Ponsonby last night, but the attendance was small as the interest in political questions is almost dead.
