Received October 13,12 30 p.m. Melboubne, This day. Brisk wagering took place last night over the Caulfield Cup, Prince Imperial being supported at 100 to 8, while Welcome Jack secured a large support at 100 to 5. [Received October 13, 1.15 p.m.] Melboubne, This day. The general entries for the forthcoming Flemington meeting are published to day, and largely exceed the number received last year. Mblboubne, Yesterday. The following horses have been scratched for the Melbourne Cup, viz.: Algerian, Astreea, Cairo, Commotion, First Demon, Happy Thought, and Vergy.

[Received October 13, 1.45 a.m.] Melboubn*. Yesterday. Caulfleld Cup Betting. There was great excitement amongst betting men to-night. Winchester has been backed for £26,000 at 100's te 4 to 100's to 6; Welcome Jack was backed for £20,000 at 100's to 3to 100's to 5; Prince Imperial is being backed for all the money in the market at 100's to 4 to 100's to 8 ; Blink Bonny has been backed for £20,000, Tom Brown for £15,000, and Lord Wilton for £6000 at 100's to 5. Lord Exeter has greatly receded in the betting, and is now quoted at 100's to 5 (off).
