Savory Morsels
A witty old lecturer ia a college was surprised one morning to find his class assembled and looking wondrous grave. On advancing lo his chair he found it oooupied by a ghost, which had been tied bolt upright. Instead of storming, as they expected, the doctor mildly remarked: "Young gentlemen, quite re. pubhoan, I see, in your tendencies—fond of a repreientative government. Elevated one of your own members to the chair Well, well, it's all right, I dare say; the' present incumbent can fill it as well as any of you. You may listen to his lecture today. Good-bye! Don't feel sheepish about it! and he departed without leaving a smile behind him.
