EXCITING BALLOON ADVENTURE IN HYDE PARK.

A London paper says:—Shortly after 4 o'clock one afternoon recently the fair persons who at the time were frequenting Hyde Park were startled by the appear-* ance of a balloon travelling from the south west and descending so rapidly as to occasion a feeling of apprehension. Fortunately the Eow was quite empty, or those usually frequenting it would hare received a heavy sprinkling of sand which was discharged from the car. The balloon tore its way through the trees on the bank of the Serpentine, and descending with great Telocity, fell into the water near the East bridge. Here in a state of partial collapse, it drifted to and fro; the ear, which contained two gentlemen, being partly submerged. After a great deal of trouble the balloon was pulled down ia the roadway near the bridge. The aeronauts were much shaken and. in a drenched condition, but were otherwise uninjured. They were Mr William Dale, of Piaistow, and Mr G. T. Stadbolt, of Chiselhurst, who had gone «p the same day from Lillie bridge grounds to take photographs. The balloon fell, owing to some defect, when it was 1500 ft high.
