Intelligence is to band from Albania of a farther engagement between Albanian forces and the Turkish troops despatched to suppress the rising in that province. The Turkish troops sustained a decided defeat, and were completely surrounded by the Albanians, Calcutta, September 20. Severe Floods in India. Disastrous floods are reported from many parts. In the Bengal Presidency it is estimated that fully 3500 square miles of country are at present under water.
London, September 29. Earl Punraven, speaking at a public meeting at Stockport, advocated the taxing of foreign imports, and admitting colonial goods free of duty.

At the battle of the Brio the Turks lost 200 men killed and wounded, while the loss of the Albanians was 1000 killed and wounded.
