Men's Saddles and Steeplechase Saddles: C. Grcatrex and Sons, Wellington, 1. The same firm obtained Ist for whip thongs—the only oxhibit, but of a very high class. Portmanteau and Gladstone Bags : G. Hatfield, Auckland, 1.

W. Higgins, Wellington, obtained first prize for Cart Harness, Ist for Gig and Buggy Harness, and 2nd for Men's Saddles and Steeplechase Saddles, and 2nd for Leather Goods.

CLASS D—TEXTILE MANUFACTURES IN WOOL, COTTON, AND SILK CLOTHING OF ALL KINDS, HAT MANUFACTURES, Etc.

Messrs North and Sconllar, of Dunedin, have protested against being awarded only second prize for drawing room suites.

At a meeting of the Executive Committee to-day, the secretary was instructed to ascertain the probable cost of keeping open the Exhibition during November. A report on the subject will be presented at the meeting to be held to-morrow.

A heavy gale this afternoon dislodged two or three sheets of galvanised iron from the roof of the Exhibition just over the main entrance. The detached plates passed along the roof of the building and were the means of breaking a few panes of glass on the roof, but no further damage resulted and repairs weie at once affected.
