THE STAFF OF LIFE.
(To tho Editor of the Erening Star.)
Sib,—How strange it is, but it is so, anyhow. No sooner does an enterprising new beginner start in the bakery line" at the reduced price of 3d per loaf, than the alarm is spread among the select little fraternity who previously said they could not sell bread under 3|d, and some of them are no* going around to their customers and informing them" that the loaf will now be 3d" They could "not find this out before they were forced to it by the new baker. I say, as the father of a family, who has many mouths to feed, give the new one a show—for if he don't get fair play, be sure you will have to pay 3fd again, or perhaps 4d, as they may "dictate. Where is '" Dough-boy " now? His assertion is about to be tested,; and we hope success may attend the energetic new beginner.—l am, &c.;,. Father of a Family. Block 2?. -v j
