To make and maintain a High Level Water Race, commencing at the Puru Stream, ia the Hastings Biding, and terminating at the Waiotahi Creek, near Grabamstown, as shown on plan deposited in the CountyJOffices, Mary street, Thames. 2. The sum proposed to be borrowed for euoh purpose is six thousand three hundred pound;. 3. The security proposed to be given to pay the interest, and provide a Sinking Fund for the repayment of such loan is a Separate Bate of Six Farthings in the £, to be imposed and levied on the High Level Water Bace Special Bating District. A PPLICATION has been made by uOL Chables McLean for a license to construct a Water Race for mining purposes, commencing at a point on the Waitawheta River marked by a peg nearly opposite the Gehenna Licensed Holding, and terminating on the said River about fifteen chains lower down, at Furnace Site, as shown on plan. The length of such Race is fifteen chains or thereabouts, and its : intended course is north and west. The mean breadth and depth of such Race is 2 feet by 3 feetj it is capable of carrying four sluice heads of water, and the number of sluice heads, of forty inches each, which it is proposed to appropriate, is four. NOTICE is therefore given that on the 10th day of October, 1885, a License will be granted to the abovenamed Chabiab McLean, for the laid Water Race, unless valid objec tion thereto be in the meantime made in writing, and lodged at this Office, not less than seven clear days b> fore that date.
