The Bench pointed out it had no alternative but to fine where the Act had been contravened. Notices stating the hours of labor were required to be posted in all work shops, and no mutual arrangement between employers and apprentices could, be recognised, such as that referred to by Eraser and Tinne, who, during the winter months shortened the week day hours, working extra on Saturday to make it up. "Warden Kenrick and the "Waste Lands Board. Warden Kenrick has reported to the Waste Land Board that the land applied for by the Crown is not Crown Lands. He also recommended that the application of Messrs Swindley and Davies for a pro« specljng license be rerused. Permission was granted to Joseph Beunett to cut timber on his Homestead Section, Tapu.
