. Yesterday. Destructive FireA fire broke out at 2 a.m. this morning on Capt. W. J. Hargrove's premises, Franklin Koad, ending in the destruction of three shops and dwellings. Insurances —Furniture and stock of groceries, £230, in the Colonial office, and £300 in the Nortuem.jThe occupier of one was Mr J. C. Crombie. Chambers, greengrocer,—the stock was partially saved; the owner, Mr Sanderson, lives in the country; insurance withdrawn. Denis Holland, bootmaker ; uninsured, but stock saved ; the owner is Mr J. Spencer ; £175 is insured in the South British. The origin of the fire is unknown. The home of the Hargrave's family bad a narrow escape.
