Mr Speed, solicitor, acting under instructions from the citizens, has notified the Board of Education that unless the resolution passed by the Board at its last meeting to p.iy the £200 to the Official Assiguee in Inspector Peacocke's estate is rescinded, he will institute proceedings against that body.
Gerald Massey's lecture on Burns was not well attended last night; the nature of the lecture was excellent and the most eloquent yet given by the lecturer in this city.
The Marist Brothers commenced their scholastic work this morning in the Pitt street schoolroom.
