A PPLICATION has been made by J\. James Aipbed James for permis sion to construct a Water Kace for mining purposes, commencing at a point about 300 feet above Waiotahi Battery, and terminating at the Beech, near aquadnct, as shown on plan. The length of such Race is eight * hundred yards or thereabouts, and its intended course is south-west. The mean' breadth and depth of such Race is 20 inches by 10 inches; it is capable of carrying three sluice heads of water, -and the number of sluice beads of forty-inches each, which il is proposed to appropriate is three.
