A PPLICATION has been made by J\. James Aipbed James for permis sion to construct a Water Kace for mining purposes, commencing at a point about 300 feet above Waiotahi Battery, and terminating at the Beech, near aquadnct, as shown on plan. The length of such Race is eight * hundred yards or thereabouts, and its intended course is south-west. The mean' breadth and depth of such Race is 20 inches by 10 inches; it is capable of carrying three sluice heads of water, -and the number of sluice beads of forty-inches each, which il is proposed to appropriate is three. NOTICE is therefore given, that on the 14th day of September, 1885, a License will be granted to the above-name J Jambs AI/*bkd James for the said Water Bace, unless valid objeqtion thereto be in the meantime made' in writing, and lodged at this Office not less than seven clear days before that dai*.
