Wellington, Yesterday. Replying to the Hon. J. T. Peacock, the Colonial Secretary said it was not the intention of Government to repeal the Government Life Insurance Association Act. The Employment of Females Bill was read a second time by 32 to 10.—The Saving Bnnk Bill was passed.—-The Financial Arrangements Bill was read a third time.—The Fire and Marine Insur* ance Bill was, after a short debate, read a second time.—The Education Amendment Bill was read a third time by 22 to 11— The Resident Magistrate's Court Proceedings Bill was read a second time. The Council went into Committee to consider the Customs and Excise Duties Bill, the Fisheries Encouragement Bill, and the Shipping and Seamen's Bill.— These Bills were all passed without amendment. The Council adjourned at 9.45 p.m.
