This day

A commission agent was fined five shillings and \ costs to-day for illegally receiving a watch in pledge, without being licensed under the Pawnbrokers Act.

An information has been laid against the proprietor of the Marlborough Times for publishing supplements without the name and address of the printer being thereon, as provided by the Printer's and Newspapers Registration Act, 1868. The prosecution is based upon advance copies of the supplement containing correspondence re the Hospital site, in connection with which libel actions are pending, wbich advance copies were distributed at the Borough Council meeting on Tuesday Dight. The case will be beard on Friday next.
