HAURAKI GOLD MINING DIS* ~ TRICT. NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO FORM A WATER RACE. i Warden's Office, 'Thames, 11th August, 1885. A PPLICATION has been made by J\. James AX.-FBED James for-permis sion to construct a Water liace for mining purposes, commencing at a point about 300 feet above Waiotahi Battery, and terminating at the Beach, near aquaduct, as shown on plan. The length of such Race is eight hundred yards or thereabouts, and its intended course is south-west. The mean breadth and depth of such Race is 20 inches by 10 inches; it is capable of carrying three sluice heads of water, and the number of sluice heads of forly iuches'eaeh, which it is proposed to appropriate is three.
