Mrßalph is getting on with the new battery as quickly as can be expected, and it will be ready to commence crushing operations about November.
A crushing >of about 150 tons is proceeding for Kiely and party, and is shaping far about loz. per ton. Leah and party are getting out payable quartz, the reef beiug about 4ft. in widtn. They are sinking a winze on the. reef to connect with the main tunnel. There are some 35 or 40ft. to sink to effect communication, and 12ft. of this distance has already been completed. When/this work is finished tbere will be a large block available for stoping. The reef is improving both in size and quality as the wiuza descends.
Hnntly and party are driving to get under the place from whence the last crushing was obtained. It should be reached iv about a fortnight.
