Wellington, Yesterday. The Distress Sill was committed, and jreported. I On the third reading of the Schools Committees Bill, the Hon Sir F. Whitaker moved that the Bill bo re committed 30 as to alter the title owing to alterations made in the Bill while in Committee.—-The motion was agreed to, and the title altered to the Education Amendment Bill. ; The Life Assurance Societies Bill was read a second time—The debate on the second reading of the Customs «nd Excise Duties Bill was adjourned.—The Stamp Amendment Bill vras read a second time, and referred to a select committee, as also was the Deceased PersonsJSstate Bill.— The Auckland College Reserves Bill was passed. The Council adjourned at 10 o'clock. »
