WELLINGTON.
Yesterday. The XT.2. Industrial Exhibition, The Exhibition was crowded all yesterday and last night, about 3000 persons being present to hear the Oamaru band, which is the first competitor for the band contest. Their playing was much admired, aod loudly applauded. After the Exhibit tion had been open for a couple of hours in the evening, it was found necessary to refuse further admission, and hundreds were turned away. A project is on foot to open the Exhibition every night. Saturday. J. B. Browne, surveyor, was taken in charge to-day for threatening to take '• Rough on Eats," which he had mixed up in a glass, and for threatening to murder his wife and children. The unfortunate man is now in the hospital, suffering from tbe effects of a drinking debauch.
